Dear John,
There are just 89 days to go until Election Day, and early and mail-in voting will start even sooner.
Right now, we face a critical question in each of our own communities, as a movement, and as a party.
The Democratic Party is set to officially nominate Joe Biden as their nominee for president of the United States in the coming days. Both progressive champions in the primary — Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders — have already thrown their full support to Vice President Biden. And every single day, Trump reminds us of the stakes of this election, as he drives millions more families into deeper pain and poverty in the middle of a pandemic, economic collapse, and eviction crisis.
Today, we're asking Working Families Party supporters and members to help us make the next decision in our process: Should WFP endorse Joe Biden for president against Donald Trump or stay neutral in the general election? Cast your vote now:

An endorsement of Joe Biden would not mean signing on to his entire platform, or slowing down for even a second in fighting for our transformative vision for this country.
It would mean that WFP would work to defeat Trump and elect Biden in all swing states where we have membership and capacity — including key electoral college battlegrounds like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Take Pennsylvania as just one example. In 2016, Trump won the state by just 44,000 votes. Last year, we helped turn out more than 60,000 WFP voters in Philadelphia alone to elect Kendra Brooks in her historic campaign for City Council on the WFP ballot line. There’s no doubt that in these states and others, what we do over the next 89 days will make a difference.
And no matter what, WFP will keep fighting to elect transformative progressive leaders everywhere we can — candidates standing up boldly to meet this moment, on the response to the pandemic and economic crisis, on racial justice and police violence, candidates who stand in solidarity with immigrants and communities under attack by Trump, who are fighting for a Green New Deal and Medicare for All, and who won't back down until we win, no matter who the next president is.
November’s election can be a referendum on transformational change, Black lives, and the priorities of working people, so that in the days and weeks and months after Election Day, the progressive agenda will lead and our multiracial progressive movement will grow even stronger.
Given the stakes, should WFP throw down to defeat Trump and elect Biden?
That's the question we are facing at this moment, John. We need to know where you stand.

When you cast your vote, we also hope you’ll share your reason for your vote. We will read every response, and share selected reasons submitted by WFP supporters (with your permission) with other supporters.
This endorsement vote is open from now until 11:59pm ET on Monday, August 10th. Here's how it will work:
The Working Families Party National Committee — which includes delegates representing WFP state chapters and local branches as well as national progressive and movement leaders — will comprise 50% of the total vote share.
WFP members and grassroots supporters will also receive 50% of the total vote share. (A WFP member is anyone who pays dues of $10/month or $120 in the past year, and a WFP supporter is anyone who is currently signed up to WFP's email or text list and who affirms our WFP values pledge).
Please take a moment to cast your vote now: Should WFP endorse Joe Biden for president against Donald Trump or stay neutral in November?
