Today, I’m proud to announce our endorsement of our first round of People First Immigration candidates.

These candidates are committed to overhauling our broken immigration system and treating migrants with compassion and common sense, rather than the cruelty they have experienced under the Trump administration.

As we work to defeat Trump in November, we must also work to elect leaders at every level who are committed to undoing the damage he's done. Our team is working hard to get our endorsed candidates elected, but we need your help to ensure we have the resources to get out the vote for these people first candidates. Our new endorsements are:

• Josh Shapiro, Attorney General of Pennsylvania
• Josh Stein, Attorney General in North Carolina

Throughout his career and as current Attorney General in Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro has been a bold and thoughtful public servant, unafraid to take on the recklessness and cruelty of the Trump immigration agenda. If reelected, Josh will continue to be a leader Pennsylvanians can trust to do what's right in the interests of them and their families.

As Attorney General in North Carolina, Josh Stein has taken on powerful interests and fought back against the abuses of the Trump administration. If reelected, he will continue to fight for the dignity and respect under law that immigrant communities in North Carolina deserve.

Team, we now have 26 People First candidates running for offices up and down the ballot. For them to win, we're going to need to dedicate the next three months to growing our nationwide, grassroots movement.
