‌ ‌ ‌ Popular Social Media Apps, Child Safety Measures In the News Microsoft could buy TikTok for as much as $30 billion "TikTok has been under fire from the Trump administration, which has accused the Chinese-owned app of collecting data on Americans and sending it to the Chinese government. (TikTok has repeatedly denied this.) President Donald Trump has stressed that he will ban the app if ByteDance doesn’t sell the widely-popular unit to an American company by September 15." Wagner Introduces Bill to Protect Victims of Crime, Reject Dangerous Warrant-Proof Encryption Representative Ann Wagner introduced the Lawful Access to Encrypted Data Act, the House companion to Senator Graham’s bill of the same name. "My legislation would require tech companies to help law enforcement access requested data in response to a lawful warrant, incentivize innovation to build environments where lawful access and maximum privacy can co-exist, and train law enforcement on how to access digital evidence."
