Last week we let you know that we sent letters [[link removed]] to local, state, and federal agencies urging them to immediately investigate what the Commerford Zoo has publicly acknowledged is its inability to provide basic care to our elephant client Minnie as a result of the COVID-19 lockdowns.
We need your help to ensure that the agencies conduct an emergency welfare check on Minnie. Please complete the below actions to urge Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and the other agencies that have oversight over the Commerford Zoo to conduct an emergency inspection of their facility and remove Minnie if she is in immediate danger:
