As it stands, 46% of New Yorkers face eviction. Let's be very clear, this is a product of a decades-long systematic failure to provide affordable housing in our city. The situation has been compounded by the economic fallout of COVID-19, but this failure existed before. This is not a sudden crisis, but a crisis that has been compounded and laid bare for all to see. Unless we correct it, the fallout will be unprecedented.
We cannot continue on our current path. We will not go back
We must recognize housing as a fundamental human right.
We must CANCEL RENT for the duration of this public health and economic crisis.
We must INVEST in new and existing affordable housing, rent subsidies and rent stabilization initiatives that ensure everyone's human right, to a roof over their head, is protected.
Help me fight to protect New Yorkers from losing their homes.
As Mayor I will recognize housing as a human right, expand affordable housing, ensure rent stabilization and protect our city from mass evictions. Help me make it clear that housing is a human right! Contribute today:
