John,

Fifty-five years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law -- the first step toward eliminating voter suppression at the polls. No one should have to worry about whether their voter registration has been purged, a long commute to the polls, or restrictive voter ID laws when trying to exercise their right to vote.

But unfortunately, in 2018 we saw unprecedented amounts of voter suppression at the polls -- from purged voter rolls to lack of accessible polling places. In 2020 we need to make sure it doesn't happen again.

This year's election will be one of the most important of our lifetime. So, we need to make sure that in 2020, every Kansan who is eligible to vote, is able to cast their vote safely and securely.

In honor of today's historic anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, add your name if you're standing with Laura in the fight to make it easier -- not harder for Americans to vote.
