Friends,
Spring is blooming and so is our campaign! We have a lot to share this week, with an even bigger weekend ahead. Grab something warm to drink (chai, coffee, whatever fits). The schedule for today is trees and forums. Stay with me.
What I’ve Been Up To
This week felt like the campaign in miniature: grounded, community-first, and joyful. Time absolutely flew by!
This week, I got to spend time planting trees with neighbors from across our district. Standing outside with your community, doing something good for the place you love — there’s nothing quite like it. It's the kind of moment where politics fades into the background and it's just people, together, taking care of something. I left feeling full. Feeling grounded ;-).
Oh, and I also attended a candidate forum this week where I had the chance to lay out my vision for this district and hear from community members about what’s on their minds. Neighbors, loved ones, friends — I loved hearing from you all, so thank you to everyone who showed up! Every person who came up to me after, every conversation in the parking lot on the way out — that’s the stuff that shapes this campaign. That’s the stuff that shapes me. I don’t take that lightly.
A simply fulfilling week. Every person I met reminded me exactly why this campaign matters. And this weekend, I want to meet you too.
🗓️ This Weekend — Come Find Me
Saturday, March 21
☕ Coffee Chats — 10:00–11:30am @ Corner Rock Cafe
Saturday mornings with this community are genuinely one of my favorite things. Come grab a coffee with me — bring your questions, bring your thoughts, bring whatever’s been on your mind lately. We’ll talk about the district, about the campaign, about whatever matters to you. No agenda. No talking points. Just good conversation over a warm cup. If you’ve been thinking about coming to one of these, please make this the one. New faces make my whole morning.
🚪 Canvass Launch — Meet @ 1:00pm @ Robious Landing Park
After coffee, we’re heading out to knock on doors. I know canvassing sounds intimidating if you’ve never done it — I promise you it’s not. It’s just talking to your neighbors. It’s telling them that there’s a candidate who actually cares about this district and asking them to give us a chance. We’ll get you trained and paired up and out there feeling confident. And if you’re a canvassing veteran who’s done this before — I need you out there with us. Truly. Remember to fully charge your phone before coming!
Sunday, March 22
🌳 Park Your Politics — 1:00–2:30pm @ Robious Landing Park
Sunday in the park. Relaxed, open, no pressure at all. This is the family-friendly event for the parents of young children in your life who want to get involved with adult things but wrestle with child care - invite them. This is the event for the neighbor who’s been curious about the campaign — bring them too. We’ll be outside, the kids will be playing, we’ll have juice boxes and snacks, and we’ll be enjoying what’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend, talking about the future of CD-1 as neighbors. I’d love to meet whoever you bring.
Can’t Make it This Weekend?
I understand — life doesn’t slow down for anyone. But if you believe in what we’re building here, there are three ways to keep this going:
👉 Volunteer — whenever you’re free, we’ll find a place for you.
👉 Donate — every dollar fuels our people-powered movement.
👉 Follow — stay updated, spread the word, and grow the movement.
Thank you for being part of this. Thank you for reading, for showing up, for caring about this district as much as I do. I don’t take any of it for granted.
See you this weekend,
Salaam Bhatti
Candidate for Congress
