Dear John,
As we begin another month of social distancing and stay-at-home orders, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) needs your support now more than ever!
At CSGV, we know that home is not a safe place for everyone -- especially when guns and domestic violence are involved. For individuals who are quarantined with their domestic abusers, guns in the home can have deadly consequences.
Last week, we were horrified to learn that an Ohio man shot and killed his wife and three kids in their home before turning the gun on himself. These deaths were preventable. This family might still be alive today had their abuser not had access to a gun.
A recent study ([link removed]) also found that, of the 749 mass shootings over the past six years, about 60% were either domestic violence attacks or committed by men with histories of domestic violence.
Domestic violence and gun violence are inextricably linked, and as the pandemic continues, we must remember how social distancing and self-isolating will affect Americans living with their abusers.
At CSGV, we have committed ourselves to pioneering life-saving policies that will disarm domestic abusers. Now, we are asking for YOUR help to be able to continue this important work and save lives!
Make a donation today to stand with us in our fight against domestic violence: [link removed]! We need your support today to make gun violence rare and abnormal.
Thank you and stay safe,
Josh Horwitz
