Now that national Republicans finally have one candidate to rally around, outside money is going to come pouring in. The $1 million in attack ads that they've already spent against Haley could look like a drop in the bucket.

Trump has had his eye on this district ever since Haley flipped it in 2018. Eric Esshaki is a Trump loyalist -- he'll likely get a huge boost from Trump's fundraising machine and an immense advantage in having Trump's name at the top of the ticket.

The entire state of this race is up in the air. How it turns out will depend on one factor: how strongly we're willing to fight back against Trumpism and keep Michigan's 11th District blue.
