Ambassador Martha Bárcena
Ambassador Bárcena was appointed Mexican Ambassador to the United States by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in 2018, becoming the first female Ambassador to hold this position. Ambassador Bárcena has represented Mexico as delegate at the United Nations, UNESCO and the Organization of American States as well as Mexico’s head of delegation at the Forum on Migration and Development. Prior to arriving in Washington, she served as her nation’s Permanent Representative to the UN’s Rome-based Agencies.
Rep. Veronica Escobar
Congresswoman Escobar, a third-generation El Pasoan, proudly represents Texas’ 16th Congressional District, making history as the first woman elected to this seat. She serves on the House Judiciary Committee and Armed Services Committee. She is Co-Freshman Representative to Leadership in Congress and holds leadership positions on both the Hispanic Caucus and the Progressive Caucus. She has established herself as a national leading voice on immigration, leading legislation to address our nation’s immigration challenges in a responsible and humane manner.
Sindy Benavides
Benavides is a Honduran-American immigrant who has experienced the American dream, and now devotes her career to ensuring that young people, women and immigrants have the same opportunity. She heads the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the country. She was previously VP of Field & Political Operations for Voto Latino. She was named one of the top Latina Women of Excellence by Hispanic Business magazine and was selected by the American Jewish Committee to travel to Israel with other national Latina leaders.
