Dear John xxxxxx,
Join us Friday, August 7 at 12p PT for the next installment of our virtual conversation series. Next up: "I Am Not My Conviction: Deconstructing the 'Violent Offender' Exclusion in CDCR's Release Plan" Link to register is HERE.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has authorized the release of an additional 8,000 individuals from state facilities over the coming months. However, those convicted of violent offenses were excluded from this plan. Please join us for a special conversation about the importance of seeing people as more than their conviction.
Joining our host Sam Lewis will be Mark Taylor, of ARC’s Hope and Redemption Team, Art Gonzales, Creator and Executive Producer of "Lessons From A Lifer", and Doris Roldan, who has recently come home after being incarcerated for 39 years at the California Institution of Women (CIW). All four of our participants are what could be termed “violent offenders” but all have deeply positive, enhancing effects on their communities and families in the free world.
We will discuss their stories, why the current release plan falls short, and interrogate the meaning of the term “violent offender” in the context of how a person has grown, rehabilitated, and transformed their life while in prison and in the free world.
Join us live at 12pm by registering HERE. This conversation will be streamed via Zoom, and ARC's social media platforms on Facebook Live, Twitter, and YouTube.

Thank you,
