2 mass shootings in less than a day leave at least 29 dead and 53 injured

One year ago, our country was ravaged by two back-to-back mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas. Both of these gruesome shootings were made exponentially more horrific for one deadly reason: military-style assault weapons.

These weapons of war are the firearm of choice for mass shooters and have no place in our communities or on our streets – but, in many places across the country, assault rifles are easier to obtain than cough syrup.

365 days have gone by, and because of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell’s lethal inaction, 0 gun safety bills have been passed. We know there are solutions to this national nightmare, solutions supported by the majority of Americans – and with less than 100 days until the election, we’re speaking out. But we need your help to send a message to our legislators:

URGENT RESPONSE NEEDED: Do you think we should ban military-style assault weapons?

Poll closing at 11:59 p.m. tonight

We’re done waiting – it’s past time we ban deadly assault weapons once and for all. Are you with us?

We’re doing everything we can to elect gun violence prevention champions before the most important election of our lifetimes so we can finally ban assault weapons once and for all. But we need top supporters like you to add your voice to this lifesaving issue right now, and we’re still 16 responses short of statistical significance in your area – and we haven’t heard from you. We can’t keep this poll open past 11:59 p.m., so please, tell us now:

Do you think we should ban military-style assault weapons?
