It’s simple, John.
Donald Trump is attempting to sabotage the November election, and he's doing it by undermining one of our most vital institutions: the United States Postal Service.
The Postal Service has taken on the incredibly vital role of enabling mail-in voting so the American people don’t have to risk voting in person during the pandemic.
But as the Postal Service suffers due to a lack of funding, Trump is adding fuel to the flame by attempting to weaken it even further.
He appointed one of his top donors to head the USPS who is now reportedly “slowing down” mail delivery. He's stoking suspicion that voting by mail will lead to "massive voter fraud" (even though he’s used the USPS to cast his own ballot in the past!).
Enough is enough.
John, it has been more than two months since I led the House in demanding a $25 billion lifeline to the USPS. It’s past time for the US Senate to step up and do their job:
Will you join me in calling on the Senate to protect mail-in voting and fully fund the United States Postal Service?
We’re running out of time to protect our election, and our very democracy is at stake. Thanks in advance for stepping up on this issue.
Mike
