Congratulations to Rep. Rashida Tlaib on a successful victory and her return to the halls of Congress, and to Abraham Aiyash on his primary win in his quest for the Michigan State House. I’m looking to forward to seeing them fight for and represent our Muslim American communities! I am so proud of our Michigan chapter for their incredible commitment and hard work supporting Muslim candidates and allies across the state.

We worked closely with Rashida’s campaign to ensure that she could run a grassroots and community-powered campaign. Our Michigan chapter made over 70,000 calls and sent over 460,000 texts to the district to let voters know why Rashida is the right representative for the 13th congressional district. We hosted a fundraiser with her campaign, raising tens of thousands of dollars to demonstrate Emgage’s strong commitment to her re-election. 

We have shown that Muslim members of Congress are here to stay.

We also had the privilege of supporting our young up and coming leader Abraham Aiyash, the first Yemeni American Muslim who will represent Michigan’s 4th State House District. In his district, our Michigan Chapter made over 17,000 calls and sent over 67,000 texts. 

Up and down the ballot, Emgage is helping Muslim candidates win their elections and represent our diverse communities. Thank you so much for your support of our organization and candidates. We can attribute this victory directly to our members. Emgage was able to help Rashida and Abraham because of your enthusiastic support, and our role in her campaign was directly influenced by successful fundraising.
