A happy harvest

For families in rural Africa, a good harvest can mean the difference between survivng and thriving.

In the past, Celestine and his wife Therese couldn't afford to feed their children vegetables and they struggled with poor health. Then they joined a self-help group working with Send a Cow. Today their compound is thriving, bursting with vegetables.

Celestine says: "When i'm harvesting I feel very happy. When I started building my vegetable gardens my neighbours questioned me. But now, when they pass by, they are amazed at how I have put my land to good use."
