This social media action is critical to pressing our politicians forward on climate action
Dear John -
Social media is one of the most impactful ways to advocate for climate change...especially during the quarantine. Join CCL-DC for this advocacy event on Twitter.
Your hosts Arlene Grant and Max Broad will lead a demo and action to elevate climate solutions for DC's representative in Congress. If you've used Twitter before, this event should take less than 15 minutes. If you're new to Twitter or a general "Twitter Grinch", we'll provide a training for all beginners.
Join Citizens' Climate Lobby to multiply our efforts on climate change. We will plan upcoming events, and advance our efforts with Conservative Outreach, Student Outreach, Congressional Advocacy, and Movement Building. Don't miss this conversation with like-minded climate advocates!
What: CCL DC Chapter Meeting When: Saturday, August 8, 11-12:30pm EDT Where: Zoom (RSVPfor details)
Join Eco.Logic and Citizens' Climate Lobby DC for environmental voter phone banking with Environmental Voter Project (volunteers will be trained before phone banking begins).
The phone banking will involve calling environmentalists to encourage them to sign up to vote-by-mail. By calling these environmentalists now -- while they're likely to be home -- we are greatly increasing the chances of their signing up for vote-by-mail and actually voting in their upcoming elections.
To participate, all you'll need is a computer or tablet and a (cellphone or landline) phone. EVP’s user-friendly phone banking software will do the rest!
CCL invites you to a webinar with Dr. Kim Cobb, a professor at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech. Dr. Cobb is among a growing number of scientists who are stepping out of the lab to apply their research on climate change to advocate for solutions. CCL holds a webinar with a climate expert to provide new insights every month.
What: CCLAugust Monthly Meeting with Dr. Kim Cobb When: Saturday, August 8, 1:00-2:00pm EDT Where: Zoom (RSVP for details)
Volunteer opportunity: Our chapter's Communications team is underway! We are still in need of volunteers to (1) engage with folks on Facebook, (2) create simple graphics for events like the ones above, and (3) wherever else you see a communications gap. Please reach out to Debbie if you're interested.
