The Senate begins debate on the SAVE America Act today. It's a dangerous voter suppression bill that would stop millions of eligible voters from registering and voting.

VoteRiders will be at the Capitol tomorrow, March 18, at 11am for a rally to protect voting rights. VoteRiders' Georgia State Director Rev. Monica Spencer will be speaking, sharing stories of Georgia voters we've helped get an ID to vote.

The SAVE America Act would do two things that would stop a lot of voters from voting:
1. Require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship (such as a birth certificate or passport) in order to register to vote or update voter registration; and
2. Require all voters in all states to show a photo ID when they vote.

All the research we’ve done through the years at VoteRiders shows that tens of millions of eligible voters do not have one or all of these types of ID documents. The effect of the SAVE America Act would be massive voter suppression.
