Dear Friend,

As one of our most committed friends, I wanted to be sure you heard about EPA’s recent shocking attack on our environment.

In addition to the years of progress President Trump has already undone, now he is working to roll back the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) regulation.

This is just the latest in a long line of assaults he has made on our health and environment. Your help is needed to fight back against this blatant corruption!

We must not let Trump’s EPA strip us of lifesaving measures already in place to protect our families from toxic emissions produced by coal-fired power plants.
  • Coal plants are the leading source of mercury and 84 other hazardous pollutants.
  • Mercury causes premature births, brain damage in babies, cardiovascular problems, and other chronic health issues.
  • Coal plants also release lead, arsenic, chromium, and nickel — all of which poison our waterways and our bodies.
EPA’s own website says, “These new standards will avert up to 11,000 premature deaths, 4,700 heart attacks, and 130,000 asthma attacks every year.”*

Clearly, they know this regulation is working to improve our health and saves lives. So why would Trump’s EPA even think about rolling it back?

Your partnership is critical during these uncertain times under Trump’s regime. Now more than ever, we must remain vigilant in defending our right to drinkable, fishable, swimmable water.

Thank you for giving generously today to lead the fight for clean water.

Sincerely,

   Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
   President
