- Washington Post John, I've said this before, but it's worth repeating now that Donald Trump Jr. has joined me in opposing the Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay -- a dangerous project that threatens the largest sockeye salmon fishery in the world: In Alaska, if you can't think for yourself, you won't survive out here. So I have to give some credit to Donald Trump Jr., for standing up to his father and tweeting: "The headwaters of Bristol Bay and the surrounding fishery are too unique and fragile to take any chances with. #PebbleMine." Each year, Bristol Bay generates thousands of jobs and billions in economic activity. If Trump's own son can stand up for the people of Alaska even when the president won't, as a sitting Senator for the state, this should be a no-brainer for Dan Sullivan. Yet, Yes-Man Dan Sullivan still refuses to stand up to Donald Trump, even if it's at the cost of his own constituents and his own state. So today, I'm calling on Dan Sullivan to come out against the Pebble Mine immediately and pledge to return any campaign funds from the project's executives. Add your name to join me -- and yes, join Donald Trump Jr. too -- in opposing the Pebble Mine. Just weeks ago, Donald Trump's administration fast-tracked approval of the Pebble Mine even though scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency said the mine could cause a "complete loss of" the Bristol Bay wildlife habitat, which would be devastating. So the future of Bristol Bay depends on Democrats, Republicans, and Independents from all across Alaska and the country standing up in opposition. With your help, maybe we can get Dan Sullivan to think for himself for a change, do the right thing, and join us in this effort to save our fish and our way of life in Alaska. Thank you, Dr. Al Gross
