John -

I wanted to pause for a moment and thank you for your support and being a part of this team.

Because of all of your support in July -- and before the primary yesterday -- we were able to cross 1,000,000 contributions to this people-powered campaign and become Arizona's Democratic nominee for the Senate!

I can't tell you how unexpected it is for me to be running for the United States Senate. It's definitely the most intimidating thing that I've done since the first time I walked up to the space shuttle.

But here's the thing, our country is facing some big challenges right now. And Washington clearly isn't getting the job done. These challenges are hard, and solving them is like landing a person on the Moon. But we're only going to be able to solve these problems with science, data, and facts -- not partisan politics.

That's why I'm running to be the independent voice for Arizona who can take on and solve these big challenges.

This is going to be a really tough election, possibly the most competitive Senate race in the country. But there is a ton of energy fueled by a desire for change. So let me say it one last time: We can't do this without your help.

I'm looking forward to working with you during these last few months and winning this race in November.

Full speed ahead!

-- Mark
