John -- It’s hard to overstate the magnitude of what happened last night in St. Louis, Missouri. But there is no doubt, mountains were moved.
 
My friend and sister, Cori Bush, fellow Brand New Congress slate mate, and co-star in the documentary Knock Down the House, took down a 50-year political dynasty that was NOT serving the people of Missouri’s First District.    


Cori showed what is possible when people who have been beaten down (in her case, literally) rise up and say, “Enough! We are taking the reins now.”   
 
Cori prevailed despite the doubt, despite having no family money or political machine backing her. She weathered the personal and ugly attacks by her opponent. Cori won because she’s proven time and again that she’s on the side of the people. People who desperately need someone to fight for them in the halls of Congress. 
 
I am so happy for the people of St. Louis this morning. They will finally have someone represent them who IS one of them. Someone who isn’t beholden to predatory lending sharks, and corporations that line the pockets of politicians so they can write laws that serve their own greed.   
 
John, this is our time. This is our movement. This is when we lock arms across the country and win races that people say can’t be won.

Capito’s 20 years in office has been good for her and her family. It’s been really bad for West Virginians who have been sold out by her corruption. I will be a Senator for ALL West Virginians, I just need the resources to win this seat.  
 
Beating Shelley Moore Capito will take everything we’ve got, but we saw last night what is possible when enough people believe in the movement. We CAN be unstoppable!  
 
We can transform our government to truly serve the people, John. Let’s do this!
