John,
The Trump administration wants to open our country during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, COVID-19 is being used by the administration as an excuse to bar asylum seekers through a new regulation [[link removed]] .
Take 5 minutes now to call out this hypocrisy and stop the latest asylum ban by submitting a comment.
Take Action [[link removed]]
Submitting a comment can influence government decision making. The law requires every unique comment to be reviewed—but you must submit your comment before the August 10 deadline.
And if everyone who supports the American Immigration Council submits a comment, we could easily generate tens of thousands of comments.
Use our template to personalize your comment telling the government why this asylum ban is unnecessary and inhumane—and encourage your friends to do the same [[link removed]] .
We cannot let the Trump administration further weaponize COVID-19 to dismantle asylum. Our commitments to public health and to those fleeing danger can and must be upheld simultaneously. The lives of thousands of people depend on it.
Sincerely,
[[link removed]]
Beth Werlin
Executive Director
