South Africa, home to the largest Jewish community in Africa, is the continent’s largest economy and a leading diplomatic voice in multilateral settings. Its relationship with Israel is multilayered, problematic, and complex, yet few Jewish communities have prospered and contributed to their country as much as South Africa's Jewry on almost all imaginable fronts. Its communal life is among the richest in the Jewish diaspora, but political developments and economic decline over the last two decades have led to significant emigration, compromising its future vitality. Please join Zev Krengel, Vice President and former National Chairman as well as President of South African Jewish Board of Deputies, the official umbrella organization of the Jewish community and a very dear friend of AJC, for a wide-ranging discussion.

This AJC Advocacy Anywhere opportunity will be recorded for playback.
