** Stakeholders and Accountability:
An Annotated Map and More!
------------------------------------------------------------
Even as the Business Roundtable has declared itself as eschewing the corporate sector’s battle cry to enrich shareholders first and foremost to the peril of all others (we’ll believe it when we see it), nonprofits have been maintaining stakeholder accountability systems that to too large an extent mimic that position—that is they are designed to please those making a cash investment above all others. NPQ recently developed a critical map of this accountability scheme to help urge a greater accountability to the communities we are organized to benefit.
Guest contributions on economic justice issues are also highly welcome. We have run a number of these, so please feel encouraged to comment or submit an article of your own.
