And I would know.

Prior to being elected to Congress, I served as a labor lawyer and am a proud, card-carrying member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 441.

In Congress, I’ve been a vocal defender of labor rights and taken on the tough battles for working Americans in my district and across the country. I have consistently fought for vital labor rights reforms, from expanding the National Labor Relations Act to protecting the Jones Act.

Since the 1980s, labor union participation has fallen from 20.1% to 9.9% of the population.

It’s no coincidence that income inequality has increased dramatically in that same time span.

Unions are critical in levelling the playing field between employers and employees, leading to higher wages and greater job stability. Americans know this, which is why 60% agree that the decline in union participation has been bad for the country.

We need leaders in Congress who will stand up for Americans’ right to unionize, and I am proud to be a part of that fight. Will you rush a donation to help a staunch union advocate get re-elected to Congress?
