Dear John,
There is no time to soften the harsh reality that greedy CEOs and their allies are stepping up their attacks on working people. You see them taking away our rights and continuing to make it harder to support our families, prepare for the future, and live life to the fullest. Then you see them pitting us against each other based on race, class, ethnicity, immigration status, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation.
They are trying to turn us against one another based on what we look like, where we’ve come from, what religion we practice and how much money we have—but we won’t let them.
This Labor Day we need your support to collectively organize, overcome their assaults, and win. Will you show your solidarity to working families and donate today to Jobs With Justice? We just confirmed that an amazing donor has committed to match all donations received by midnight on Labor Day, dollar for dollar! NOW is the time to get your donation in!

Here are some of the threats we're facing head-on and the innovative ways we're fighting alongside and for working people this year:
- Fighting economic injustice: This year, working people banded together to demand better wages, benefits, and community agreements. Jobs With Justice stood in solidarity with educators throughout the country as they went on strike for better contracts and more prominent union representation. And we will always stand with employees fighting to join together in union or negotiate new contracts, like the 31,000 New England Stop & Shop workers who walked off their jobs and won a raise and healthcare benefits.
- Confronting corporate greed: Jobs With Justice continues pressuring Amazon over its relationship with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the horrendous working conditions inside its warehouses, and the company's relentless growth. We joined the successful fight against their proposed second headquarters (HQ2) in New York City, stood in solidarity with striking warehouse employees in Minnesota, and joined together with organizations and activists in protest of Amazon on Prime Day. As the year comes to a close, we will continue to push back
against Amazon's exploitation of working people and communities with everything we've got.
- Standing up for immigrant rights: Jobs With Justice has joined with labor partners, community groups, and activists across the country to successfully push big banks like Bank of America and SunTrust to stop financing private prison groups like CoreCivic, who detain immigrant families. We recently called on major hotel chains to refuse ICE's outrageous request to serve as temporary detention centers to hold immigrant families. Responding to our calls, multinational hotels like Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt stepped up and refused to assist ICE in its efforts to terrorize our immigrant friends, neighbors, and families. And just this past month, we hit the ground in Mississippi to support families and organize in response to massive ICE raids and firin
gs at food processing plants.
We are doubling down on the ways we support working people who are coming together to protect what we have and create the healthy democracy we need. As the attacks on working communities increase, so does the resiliency and innovation we need in our current moment.
We can succeed as long as we have people like you on our side. With your help, we will beat back these attacks and rewrite the rules for our economy to benefit everyone, not just those at the top. Join the movement for working people by donating to Jobs With Justice this Labor Day!
In Solidarity,
