Thanks to the NDRC and supporters like you, Democrats are making great strides toward ending Republican gerrymandering.

Just look at Michigan. As in so many other states, the GOP manipulated our maps back in 2011 when I was in the state Senate. If Republicans had their way in 2018, they would have been in position to gerrymander all over again in 2021.

But the NDRC invested in Michigan -- in my campaign for governor, in Democrats running for the state legislature, and in a proposal to create an independent redistricting commission. Now we're one of the first states in the country to take redistricting out of the hands of politicians and give that power to a non-partisan commission.

In 2020, the NDRC is working to replicate their success in Michigan in other states around the country, but they can't do it without your help. Will you chip in to help them make even more gains toward ending gerrymandering?

The NDRC may have scored some big wins in 2018, but there are many battles left to fight. There are too many states where Republicans still control the governor's office and both houses of the legislature, giving them free reign to gerrymander again in 2021. Several of those states, like Florida, North Carolina, and Texas, will play important roles in the 2020 presidential race.

So, we have to keep fighting. Luckily, Attorney General Holder has a great team at the NDRC, and I know they're using every possible tactic to ensure that the next round of redistricting is fair. But they need your support to do their critical work. Will you pitch in so that the NDRC can help other states achieve fair maps, just like they did in Michigan?
