This is urgent, John: By the end of the year, rising poverty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic could force nearly 10 million children around the world out of school forever – and cause millions more to fall behind in learning.

Access to education is critical in saving children from child labor, early marriage, gender-based violence and a future plagued by extreme poverty. That's why it couldn't be more important to ensure that all children can continue to learn while schools are closed during this pandemic – and that they can return to school when it's safe to do so.
