PRESIDENT TRUMP'S COVID-19 RESPONSE:

President Trump has been decisive and resolute in leading our country in the battle against the invisible enemy of COVID-19. Back in January, President Trump enacted a ban on travel from China when it was obvious that the virus was originating there. The president has also stopped travel from Europe and other coronavirus hotspots. President Trump worked with the private sector to make available 100,000 ventilators to ensure that anyone in America who needed a ventilator did not go without one, and he ensured that our testing capabilities were accelerated to control the pandemic. More than 700,000 tests are performed every day. Vitally, the president initiated Operation Warp Speed to produce a vaccine before the end of the year. His administration also acquired 500,000 doses of the therapeutic remdesivir to distribute to patients in need. In a press briefing yesterday, President Trump announced that 50 million tests have been administered so far and that the fatality rate is 3.7 percent in the U.S. – lower than the global fatality rate and lower than most foreign nations.

BOTTOM LINE:

President Trump has gone above and beyond to ensure the safety of every American during the coronavirus pandemic. Unlike former Vice President Joe Biden, who mismanaged his administration’s response to the swine flu, President Trump has put the American people first. Even as the economy temporary shut down, President Trump enacted the Paycheck Protection Program and saved more than 50 million jobs as well as millions of small businesses. The American economy has roared back thanks to the policies and actions of President Trump. Meanwhile, the Obama-Biden administration botched the development of a vaccine for the swine flu and overruled the CDC in halting testing for the disease. Compared to the previous administration, President Trump has handled the coronavirus magnificently. Unfortunately, we will never hear Democrats or their allies in the mainstream media admit that.

WHAT ELSE TO WATCH:

Democrats Play Politics with Coronavirus: As President Trump and Senate Republicans work together to pass a new COVID-19 relief bill, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) is rallying his party together to block the legislation. He falsely claimed that the bill will “prioritize corporate special interests.” The president supports another round of stimulus checks to help Americans who have lost their jobs. He also supports a payroll tax cut to put more money in Americans’ pockets as the economy opens back up. Democrats have been obstructionists every time President Trump and Republicans have attempted to pass a coronavirus package, delaying relief for the American people. In fact, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) may be complicating the issue even further this time. She told Democrats that she wants to see their own stimulus bill by the end of the week. That Democratic bill is sure to include radical policies that have nothing to do with helping Americans, such as regulating cow farts.

BOTTOM LINE:

What Democrats are doing should come as no surprise. As we have seen time and time again throughout this pandemic, Democrats are totally fine with political games at the expense of American lives and livelihoods. We have the physical and economic health of countless Americans on the line, but rather than come to the table with President Trump and Republicans, Democrats are introducing their own bill in a sad attempt at a power play to score political points with their far-left base. There’s a good chance another stimulus package will be passed in the future, but it could be done sooner if Democrats would actually have some sense and work with President Trump.

Joe Biden Wants to Defund Police: Presumptive Democratic nominee former Vice President Joe Biden has recently joined forces with socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) in an attempt to unify the “moderate” and far-left wings of the party. Under this “Unity Platform,” Biden has become more open to redirecting funding away from the police, handicapping law enforcement in its mission to protect us, the American people. In a recent interview with far-left media outlet NowThis, the former vice president said that we should “absolutely” cut funding for the police. His “Unity Platform” with Senator Sanders calls for “reining in qualified immunity,” which protects police from costly lawsuits. Biden has even hired a new staffer who mocked law enforcement as worse than “pigs.”

BOTTOM LINE:

Our future under a potential Joe Biden presidency is deeply frightening. Vice President Biden has no problem cutting our law enforcement’s funding and has allied himself with far-left radicals who are advocating for complete anarchy in our streets. His top campaign advisor Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) even reiterated that point by saying “defunding police means defunding police.” The brave men and women of law enforcement are already struggling with the looting and rioting occurring in Democrat-run cities. The last thing they need is to lose their much-needed funding. In Joe Biden’s America, these riots would become the new normal. At this point, we need to re-elect President Trump more than ever this November so we can ensure the safety of our families going into the future.

Senate Confirms Russell Vought: On Monday, Senate Republicans confirmed Russell Vought as the director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) by a 51 to 45 vote. The OMB is responsible for producing the president’s budget, and Mr. Vought had led the office in an acting capacity. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) and Senate Republicans continue to act quickly to confirm President Trump’s nominees. Last month, the Senate confirmed the president’s 200th federal judge – a record for this early in a president’s incumbency.

BOTTOM LINE:

Majority Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans remain staunch allies of President Trump and are doing a great job confirming the president’s nominees. It is vital to re-elect Republicans to the Senate this year. If Democrats win the Senate and President Trump wins re-election, Democrats will likely use every tool at their disposal to block his nominees and commonsense policies. We must elect President Trump to a second term this November, and we must send Republicans back to the Senate.

Presidential Medal of Freedom: On Friday, President Trump will honor former Rep. Jim Ryun (R-Kansas) with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Rep. Ryun is also one of the greatest track runners in American history. He was the first high schooler to run a mile in under four minutes and earned an Olympic silver medal in 1968. Additionally, Sunday will mark 100 days until Election Day, when we will see President Trump beat former Vice President Joe Biden in the general election.

BOTTOM LINE:

Rep. Ryun is an American hero and deserves the recognition that President Trump is giving him. Earlier this year, the president awarded conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh with the honor. President Trump has done a great job at recognizing brave men and women who have made a difference in America. However, for that to continue, we must re-elect President Trump this November. We’re only 100 days away from the election. We know that Joe Biden is a Trojan horse for the far-left radicals who have taken over the Democrat Party, and we cannot afford to let them run our country for the next four years.
