John,
Republicans across the country are working hard to suppress the vote in
2020. We have already seen this play out in state elections in Wisconsin,
Georgia, and Kentucky.
They’re instituting discriminatory voter ID laws, closing polling
locations to force long lines and extreme wait times, purging registered
voters from the rolls, and attacking our ability to safely vote by mail.
And in the midst of a global pandemic and cratering economy, Donald Trump
is using every tool at his disposal to prevent Americans from exercising
their constitutional right to vote.
Suppressed 2020: The Fight to Vote is a new documentary from Brave New
Films about the serious threat of voter suppression to our election this
November. It details Republican voter suppression tactics and amplifies
the fight to stop them.
As part of DFA’s Protect America’s Vote campaign, we are inviting every
DFA member to join a special virtual screening of Suppressed 2020 with
Senator Cory Booker, Senator Patrick Leahy, and Congresswoman Terri
Sewell.

The film begins with Stacey Abrams’ race for governor in 2018 and the
widespread voter suppression of voters of color in Georgia.
It then takes on the challenges we are up against right now, and why we
have to fight voter suppression with everything we have.
We’re doing just that with our Protect America’s Vote campaign by
registering new voters, verifying and updating current voters’
registration information, supporting disenfranchised communities in the
fight against the systems set up to deny their constitutional right to
vote, and more.

details just what we are up against. It will be a moment you won’t want to
