Dear Friend, Thanks to Olmsted County resident Alan Maves for this letter to the Rochester Post Bulletin highlighting my long-standing support for veterans to choose their own doctors and hospitals or use the VA for medical services.
Letter: Community care program is boon to veterans Mayo, VA agreement will improve access to health care Written By: Alan Maves | Aug 1st 2020 - 6am. Earlier this week, the Mayo Clinic Health System and the Minneapolis VA Health Care System reached an agreement for joint participation in the community care program enacted under the Mission Act. This is great news for our veterans across Minnesota. This will improve veteran access to VA healthcare, prescription drug procedures, and so much more – especially in our rural communities of southern Minnesota. If there is anyone who has been an established advocate in Minnesota for veterans’ ability to choose their doctors and hospitals, it’s Congressman Jim Hagedorn. He has been a consistent ally to veterans, even writing to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure that America’s veterans have access to timely, quality, health care. The Mayo Clinic Health System is one of the top providers in the U.S., and our veterans deserve the same quality care as patients from around the world. Including VA participation in the community care program created in the Mission Act will drastically improve the quality of life for veterans in southern Minnesota and across the country.
-Alan C. Maves, Rochester
The recent agreement between the VA and the Mayo Clinic Health System is a big step forward for southern Minnesota’s veterans. Veterans have earned and deserve timely, quality medical care. Help me keep fighting for our Veterans! Thank you for support! P.S.
My opponent has been handpicked by Nancy Pelosi and was endorsed by Ilhan Omar. They are already raising him massive amounts of money from their extreme East and West coast liberal friends. That’s why I really need your help today. Even a contribution of $250, $100, $25, or $10 right now (Help Jim Win!) will send a loud message that they can’t buy this district and misrepresent the people of southern Minnesota.
