The midterm elections are officially underway, so we wanted to take a moment to explain to you how we plan to win back control of the U.S. Senate.

In addition to defending Democratic seats up for re-election, Democrats are on offense in states like Alaska, Texas, North Carolina, Maine, and Ohio as opportunities to flip vulnerable Republican-held seats.

Of these five races, we need to win four in order to achieve a Democratic Senate majority.

That means we need to help James Talarico win in Texas. We need to help Roy Cooper win in North Carolina. And we need to help re-elect Jon Ossoff in Georgia.

That’s where the DNC comes in. Our When We Count program is already working to register more than 250,000 new Democratic voters in swing states throughout the South.
