So we’re going to tell it to you straight right now: Every election cycle, August is the worst month for fundraising. The data tells us that every year we see a decline in average donation amount — but also how many people are chipping in over the course of the month.
But this year isn’t like other years. We simply cannot afford to fall behind this August. With less than 90 days until the most important election in modern history, we have to take no chances and we cannot fall behind on our monthly fundraising goals. Not when we’re making plans for launching online organizing programs to keep the House and flip the Senate or turning out more veterans and allies of our movement than ever before this November to send Traitor Trump packing.
It’s already been a slow start to the month, and we have a lofty goal of $200,000 raised for August. We set that goal based on ads we need to create and run in markets only we advertise in with messaging only we can deliver. The only barrier to success is making sure we have the resources we need early enough to be able to use them.

Last month our average donation was just a little more than $24 per person. That means we need to reach thousands of donations before the month is over if we want to make the most out of the last eight weeks leading up to November.
