Hey Team,
Yesterday, Federal Judge Torres ordered the NY-12 primary ballots that were mailed on or before primary day (but received without postmark as a result of a Postal Service error) to be counted, as I called for weeks ago.
Although the number of ballots can’t affect the outcome of my primary election, which I won by a significant margin, I am happy that voters in my district will have their votes counted notwithstanding the Postal Service's mistake.
Sadly, my former opponent has become Donald Trump’s mouthpiece in disparaging mail voting, making unsupported claims of many thousands of ballots being invalidated when the true facts show a smaller number with no effect on the results.
This federal court decision yesterday solidifies my victory in this primary race. So now, I'm calling on Suraj Patel to accept his loss and concede rather than substantiating Trump's attempts to undermine our democratic process.
Pitch in $12 now to stand with me in fighting back against my former opponent's Trumpian tactics to undercut our democracy in NY-12 >>
