John—
It brings me so much joy to finally be able to share this news: The Lie That Binds podcast is officially launching today!
I’ve been eagerly waiting to be able to share this moment with you, John, and our entire NARAL family, because it was from this community of dedicated activists that I got the inspiration to begin writing The Lie That Binds in the first place.
When I had the idea to write this book exploring the insidious history of how the anti-choice movement came to be, I knew that I couldn’t do it alone.
There was no way that I could put pen to paper and talk about the roots of the Radical Right without sitting down and talking with the historians, the activists, the movement builders, and the politicians and lawmakers who have dedicated their life’s work to exposing these truths and advancing the fight for reproductive freedom.
Now, their voices not only fill up every page of the book — they’re amplified even louder on each episode of the podcast.
LISTEN NOW
This series unpacks the terrifying rise of the anti-choice movement, from its surprising roots in school segregation to its role in the election of President Donald Trump. The first episode of the podcast features Fair Fight Founder Stacey Abrams, author and Reproductive Justice activist Loretta Ross, and former NARAL president Karen Mulhauser (Just to name a few!). Together, we answer the question: What do racism and the anti-choice movement have in common?
So what do you say, John? Grab some headphones and listen to the first two episodes of the The Lie That Binds podcast now. And when you subscribe, you'll get the latest episodes right to your device each week.
Sincerely,
Ilyse Hogue President, NARAL Pro-Choice America
With the support of people like you, we can make sure that freedom is for every body.
