Hi There,

As you know, President Trump has taken this country to war with Iran. Even
though Iran didn’t pose a threat to our country, he joined with Prime
Minister Netanyahu to attack.

Over a decade ago, President Trump loudly criticized the Obama
Administration for not negotiating a strong enough nuclear agreement with
Iran, an agreement that stopped the development of nuclear weapons and
kept peace between our countries. Trump ripped that agreement up when he
came into office.

Apparently President Trump’s “Art of the Deal” means failing to negotiate
a new agreement at all, and launching an unprovoked attack. He walked away
from securing a stronger deal that would avoid putting our service members
in harm’s way.

Let me be clear: the existing regime in Iran was brutal and terrible to
its citizens.

But this move puts our troops at risk. It puts our country at risk.

And it comes at a time when working families around the country are
struggling. They’re struggling with the rising cost of health care, of
groceries, of things they buy every day. Rather than using our resources
to bring down the cost of the things Americans need, your tax dollars are
going toward a risky war that will only raise prices higher.

I voted to block his use of U.S. forces in the Senate last week, but once
again, Republicans refused to stand up to Trump and the measure failed.

The work does not end there.

I will continue to do everything I can to hold Trump accountable for this
pointless war.

Thanks,

Peter
