Last week’s hearing was a stunning example of how dangerous Bill Barr is to our country. In his remarks, Barr denied the existence of systemic racism in policing -- instead blaming Black Americans for the violence in their communities.
Barr defended the use of force against peaceful protesters, calling them “violent rioters and anarchists.”
And he propped up the worst of Trump’s conspiracy theories -- casting doubts on vote-by-mail, and even blaming President Obama for Trump’s failed pandemic response.
The Attorney General is supposed to uphold the law, not try to guarantee the president’s re-election by any means necessary. But it’s clear Barr would rather be Trump’s lackey than protect the constitution -- which is why we’re joining Senator Warren in her call for Barr to resign.
