Dear Comrades,

A local community coalition, Invest in Pittsfield, led by members of the Pittsfield City Council, the local NAACP chapter and Berkshires DSA have a petition to present to Pittsfield City Council before noon tomorrow. The City Council requires names, street address and town of residence from all signees.

The petition demands transparency with the Pittsfield Police Department's budget. Invest in Pittsfield has found holes and inconsistencies with their budget. In the fight against institutional racism and corruption within police departments across the nation, we demand transparency on police budgeting so that we can bolster alternatives to the police, supporting our community with non-violent specialists who can make a positive impact when they are needed. Please sign the petition before 8 am EST tomorrow morning, August 5.
