Friend,
I would never respond to an outside poll, but a new poll is out there showing Doug Jones losing by... wait for it... 17 points.
Here is my comment: No way.
Senator Jones is not down 17 points. We have the race as a virtual dead heat. And we are going to win.
Want more proof? Mitch McConnell and his dark money groups are spending millions in Alabama right now attacking Doug. They sure aren't acting like it's a blowout. They're coming after Doug with everything they've got.
I have emailed you before with "how Doug Jones wins this race." Well, here is how Tommy Tuberville wins: One bad poll turns all of us off – that means all of you, reading this email – you write the race off, and Tuberville coasts to victory because no one is paying attention. Everyone abandons Alabama except Mitch McConnell, who is ALL IN to beat Doug. The proof is in the money he is spending now.
We can't let that happen. I am asking you today because I know Doug Jones is in a virtual dead heat and we can win this: please help us fight back, right now.
I repeat: There is no way in hell Doug Jones is down by even double digits, much less 17 points. No way – period. Every metric we have seen – from rising support for the Senator among suburban women to increased support with independents – points to this once again being a very close race.
I know we have a path to win, friend. We did in 2017 and we do now. We are going to win and prove Washington and the pundits wrong again. But we really need your help.
I sure hope Tommy Tuberville believes this poll because he's in for a rude surprise.
