Hey John, it’s Jayce from Team Elaine! A couple of big developments have shaken up the race for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District in recent weeks. Here’s where things stand as of today, 3/7:

* New maps were released ahead of a redistricting ballot referendum in Virginia. While most districts changed significantly, VA-02 is the sole exception. The race here remains a dogfight.

* The DCCC added Elaine to their prestigious Red to Blue program! This grants us access to better tools and strategies to reach voters all over the district, but it also brings a higher level of GOP scrutiny to our campaign.

* Sabato’s Crystal Ball maintained its toss-up rating for VA-02 , calling it a “classic swing district” in both the old and new House maps.

* A week into March, we’re 14% of the way to our End-of-Quarter FEC goal . We’ll have to do better over the next three weeks in order to hit that target and cement Elaine as the strongest candidate in the field.

Elaine is the candidate who can beat Jen Kiggans in November, but more importantly, she’s the kind of courageous leader our state and country badly need right now. I’m doing everything I can to help her win this battleground race so she can get back to fighting for Virginia families, and I hope I can count on you to help us navigate the challenges ahead.
