On day one of this campaign, I promised to refuse any and all donations from corporate PACs. I knew it could put us at a huge fundraising disadvantage as corporate donors have bankrolled, and will continue to bankroll, my opponent.

It might not have been the easy thing to do, but it was the right thing.

A lot of people questioned if we could even win this race. No one thought we could break through the Republican stronghold and flip this district blue.

Then, something extraordinary happened…

First, Phil from Phoenix chipped in $5. Moments later, Kathryn from Cave Creek donated $15. And then, Marvin from Scottsdale even contributed $100. More and more people began chipping in — and that, John, is what a people-powered movement looks like. It’s been humbling to watch it grow!

Now, we’re facing yet another challenge. We’re behind on our pre-primary election fundraising goal with little time left to catch up. I know our incredible team has the power to come out on top. I’ve seen it before and I’m counting on it today.
