Jack,

Gas prices hit $2.94 a gallon yesterday, up 40 cents in seven days. Iran
has now closed the Strait of Hormuz, the crucial chokepoint through which
a fifth of the world's oil supply passes.

This war is costing American taxpayers $687 every second, according to the
National Priorities Project. Every second. While you’re reading this
email, the bill is growing.

This will get worse. And while Wisconsin families are stretching a tank of
gas, there are people betting on war.

On an online prediction market called Polymarket, traders made $1.2
million correctly betting on the exact date the U.S. would strike Iran —
hours before it happened. Another pocketed $553,000 betting Iran's supreme
leader would be killed — just before he was.

Polymarket runs on cryptocurrency — nobody has to say who they are. So we
don't know who placed those bets. We may never know.

And while that was happening, over 200 U.S. service members from across
every branch of the military filed complaints with a watchdog organization
saying their commanders were telling them this war is — and I am not
making this up — "all part of God's divine plan," and that Trump was
"anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon."

I'm a candidate for governor. I can't vote to end this war. But I can tell
you what it's costing Wisconsin families — and who's cashing in while we
pay.

I'm running for governor because Wisconsin families deserve a fighter in
the Capitol — someone who will push for universal childcare, a BadgerCare
public option, fully funded schools, and real relief from the cost of
living that keeps climbing while the powerful look out for themselves.

[ [link removed] ]The bets are placed. The bombs are falling. The gas prices are
climbing. The only thing that changes any of it is power — and that's what
we're building. Chip in today.
