John,
I don't know about you, but 2020 has already left me feeling some kind of way.
In just the first half of the year, we've lived through the start of the coronavirus pandemic and seen its overwhelming devastation in BIPOC communities, the start of a national reckoning on systemic racism and anti-Blackness, and the growing Black Lives Matter movement. This is all on top of our continuous work to fight back against rising white nationalism, anti-immigrant and anti-Black policies, and attacks on our rights.
If you're like me, then even just reading this list has made you tired. That means it's time for you to take a well-deserved pause and invest in yourself [[link removed]] .
Interested? Then join us [[link removed]] on Wednesday, August 5th and Friday, August 7th, for our first ever self care series for womxn leading these critical movements. We'll be in community with fierce political leaders like New York Assemblymember Catalina Cruz, Rebecca Dominguez, Diamellia Williams, Shana Gladden, and Retha Fernandez for real talk on the stress womxn of color face, especially in politics, and how we can cope in this rollercoaster year.
Invest in yourself. Commit to joining our self care community! [[link removed]]
Remember: self care isn't selfish. If we are going to keep growing our movement and tearing down the establishment to create an inclusive democracy, we have to pause and take some time to recharge and grow.
Make sure you are investing in yourself during this historic time— RSVP now for one or both sessions! [[link removed]]
Hope to see you there,
