Like many, I was disturbed when I read this:

Donald Trump on Twitter: "With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???"

There’s a lot of ugly, dangerous stuff coming out of this presidency, John . And now, President Trump, whose inaction, lies, and ego have cost us lives right here in Texas, wants to use this pandemic as an excuse to grab at more time to figure out how to win.

One thing is for sure: this move has nothing to do with public health, and everything to do with Donald Trump’s sinking poll numbers. If the President really wanted to create a safe, secure election, he’d let everyone vote the same way he does — by mail.

Time is running out to pass REAL reform that will protect our election and our voters. Instead of wasting time by grabbing at power he simply doesn’t have, the President should be working with lawmakers to pass universal vote-by-mail.
