John, I'm beginning to think there's more than one reason why I've become one of the Democrats' top targets for defeat in this election. At first, I thought it might have been my passionate defense of Brett Kavanaugh during the hearings for his nomination to the United States Supreme Court. It also could have been my steadfast support for President Donald Trump and the accomplishments of his administration during his first three and a half years in office. It might have been that as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee we have confirmed a record number of conservatives to the federal courts. (And we're not done yet, by the way.) But now, I'm starting to believe there might be another reason why the Democrats are so desperate to take me down. It seems that the more I expose their sham investigations, the bigger the target is on my back. My opponent has already outraised me by $7.4 million this year. When the next campaign finance reports come out again, I expect his advantage will grow even wider. That doesn't include the $4 million that powerful liberal groups have promised to spend on an avalanche of direct attacks against me.
