John --
It’s been a whirlwind weekend on the campaign. Even though we aren’t knocking doors or doing big events, I’ve been spending every waking minute of my time on the phones trying to raise more money and connect with key supporters (check out that list below).
With Election Day fast approaching, I’m taking a quick break from calls to update you on our campaign.
But first, I’d like to start by saying thank you. I wouldn’t have made it this far without your support. Thanks to you, we are heading into Election Day with a ton of momentum to live up to the type of campaign WA-10 deserves.
I’m also proud we secured a number of important organizational endorsements, including:
- Pierce County Democrats
- Pierce County Young Democrats
- Young Democrats of Washington
- Washington Stonewall Democrats
- Humane Voters of Washington
- The 2020 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction
And national elected officials and organizations:
- Congressman David Ciciline, Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee
- Congressman Mark Takano, Chair of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee
- Equality PAC, the campaign arm of the LGBTQ Equality Caucus
And Washington elected officials, including:
- State Auditor Pat McCarthy
- Olympia Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Bateman
- Puyallup Mayor Julie Door
- Tacoma Councilmember Kristina Walker
- Tacoma School Board Director Lisa Keating
- Thurston County Treasurer Jeff Gadman
- Former Tacoma Councilmember Ryan Mello
- Former Pierce County Councilmember Rick Talbert
- Former Speaker of the House Wayne Ehlers
We’re two days from Election Day, and there are still ways you can help our campaign:
1. Volunteer and help us turn out voters. We are calling voters and around the clock until polls close. This is probably the most impactful action you can take to make sure we come out on top on Tuesday. Join us here.
2. This one seems obvious, but vote! Make sure that you, and everybody you know, returns their ballot. Ballots must be postmarked by August 4 or returned to a ballot dropbox by 8 pm. For more info on voting, click here.
3. Spread the word. Forward this email to five or more friends and family that live in the area. Explain why you are supporting my campaign, and direct them to my website for more information about my policies and experience.
4. Share your story. Spread the word about our campaign on Facebook and Twitter. I love engaging with supporters on Twitter, so it’s likely that we’ll retweet your story and why you’re supporting our campaign.
I’m ready to deliver for WA-10 on the most important issues: health care, climate change, voting rights, immigration reform, and so much more. I grew up here and went to DC to work with Denny Heck serving the South Sound. Now I’m ready to do it again.
Thank you for your vote, and for helping us make history right here in WA-10.
Phil
