William Perry Pendley has called undocumented immigrants “a cancer.” He’s said the Black Lives Matter movement is “based on a lie.” He’s even suggested selling off public lands in order to pay for Donald Trump’s border wall -- and over the past year, has given over hundreds of acres of federal land to aid in its construction.
In short, William Pendley is a bigot who puts profit over people -- and he’s willing to ransack our most valuable resources in order to prop up President Trump’s failed agenda.
That’s exactly why Pendley cannot become Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
The 245 million acres of public land BLM oversees won’t be safe under Pendley’s control. He’s proven he’ll sell our pristine natural beauty to Big Polluters just to make a quick buck.
But Trump has already nominated Pendley for the job, and Pendley will soon appear before the Senate for a confirmation hearing. Unfortunately, the Republican-led chamber has already shown they’re willing to rubber-stamp the worst of Trump’s cronies, time and time again.
We refuse to let it happen this time.
