Our final episode of the Undocumented Cookshow.

Friend,

As immigrants, food is often one of the only connections that we have to our birth countries. Thanks to food, we can connect to old places, memories and special people. Today, I’ll show you how to make Shrimp Empanadas - this recipe was submitted to our cookbook by Dulce from Mexico.

Dulce learned how to make these delicious empanadas from her Grandma and it was the last meal that she enjoyed before she and her mother immigrated to the U.S. Years later Dulce’s grandmother passed away, but the Shrimp Empanadas stayed in the memory of Dulce forever.

Friend, today, let’s pay a tribute to Dulce’s grandma and watch this video in which I’ll teach you how to create her shrimp empanadas.

But more than just a reminder of her grandma, this recipe also gives Dulce hope, because she hopes that one day she will have a family of her own to pass on this traditional recipe.

I had a blast making this recipe and I hope you get to enjoy it too. Don’t forget to share this video with your friends.
