Following the lottery funded restoration of Highfields Park that was completed in 2018, we are pleased to have secured funding for a Head Gardener post at the park. This role is vital to oversee the maintenance of the new landscape and features which have been restored back to their original condition and improved for today's visitors.

The purpose of this role is to lead, direct and motivate teams of gardeners, community volunteers andacting as a mentor to Horticultural Apprentices. You will be responsible for ensuringeffective day to day on site working using planning and monitoring techniques in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures, including the Health,Safety and Welfare Policy. with particular emphasis on improving quality, the public's perception, and encouraging visitor/ community use and enjoyment of Parks.

*Essential Requirements*
* Experience of staff supervision and team leadership to achieve high quality standards and meet deadlines
* Experience of Advanced Horticultural Operations and sports grounds maintenenace, fine turf,and experience in chemical application
* Supervisory/staff management qualification or equivalent experience
* First aid at Work Certificate or willing to undertake training
* Must holda valid driving licence.

We have two Cemeteries Support Assistantvacancies, one is a full time permanent vacancy and one is a full time secondment until 31st May 2021. The starting salary is 19,171 (level 1) rising to 19,945 (level 2) on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time). The Business Support team at Wilford Hill is responsible for administering around 2,000 cremations and 800 burials per year. The post holder(s) will directly support the Councils commercial approach and will undertake a wide range of administrative duties in relation to the day to day operation of the Cemetery service, including the booking of cremations and burials, collection and receipt of payments, responding to letters and emails and answering the telephone. The post holder(s) will also be the first point of contact for visitors to the main office including bereaved families, funeral directors and citizens making general enquiries.

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*
Ability to work accurately, efficiently and understand and interpret a wide range of data.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet regular demanding deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing with a wide range of people including colleagues, senior colleagues, citizens, bereaved families and funeral directors.
Ability to deal with highly emotive situations sensitively, tactfully and with professionalism.
High levels of numeracy in order to manage various payments, receipts and invoicing.
