John,

Ilhan Omar. Wilmot Collins. Nadia Mohamed. Bhuwan Pyakurel.

While these trailblazing leaders may serve in different elected offices across the country, they have two things in common: they are proud New Americans and are committed to strengthening our democracy. As new U.S. citizens and former refugees, they bring their personal experiences and shared community values to their legislative bodies; working tirelessly to ensure that all people are welcomed and included in our democracy.

But despite their work and historic wins, we have a long way to go to create a country that includes and welcomes all people. Under the Trump administration, refugee resettlement numbers are at historic lows, immigrant families are still being separated and detained in inhumane conditions, and the asylum system has been all but shut down. It’s time for this to change.

Join us on Wednesday, August 12 at 2PM ET/11AM PT to hear from some of the leaders continuing our movement to create a more welcoming, inclusive democracy! [[link removed]]

This is a discussion you won’t want to miss. RSVP now to save your spot at this key conversation. [[link removed]]
